Yesterday was my 91st birthday. In lieu of a bunch of small gifts, the family went in on a new window for over our kitchen sink to replace the big garden window. It will be so great to have fresh air and more light there now!! Our grandson Scott installed it and will frame it in. Most of the local family celebrated my birthday at a bbq at Sharon's house.
Today is our 70th wedding anniversary. Cele and I were married in Wichita Falls, Texas by a Justice of the Peace. My parents gave Cele round trip bus fare from New York for Christmas and we were married soon after she arrived. Some family and friends surprised us tonight with a celebration including champagne, cake, flowers, etc. Our daughter Linda surprised us the most with an official Proclamation from the City of Wichita Falls naming today as Cele's and my day. Linda had contacted the City Clerk there and she, along with the mayor and Public Information Officer were so touched by our story from 70 years ago that they compiled the proclamation cleverly wording it using our own personal story and rushed it to be here for our big day. Linda framed the proclamation and the Wichita Falls coin they sent with the proclamation, in a shadow box frame with our pictures of us on our wedding day and the little house we honeymooned in. We were so surprised. Our daughter Kathie and her husband Rich congratulated us on Facetime from Oregon. Our best man and his wife celebrated their 70th anniversary recently and sent us a handmade card as well.

On Tuesday the local family gathered at Ray and Linda's to celebrate my 90th birthday. Wow! We had a video call from our youngest daughter Kathie in Oregon as well. Here are some pictures (including a couple of photo collages of the family) and from the party:
